Alexandre Brun (French, 1853-1941) - View of the Salon Carré at the Louvre, c.1880 (Oil on canvas. Musée du Louvre) - - The artist painted the west wall with a door to the Grand Hall and covered with pictures of all the schools. Indeed, from 1848, the Salon Carré served as a platform for the masterpieces of the Louvre until the First World War.
